  • 3 large, ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mash the bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Add the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla to the mashed bananas, and mix well.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into a buttered loaf pan.
  7. Bake in an oven preheated to 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes.
  8. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  9. Let cool before slicing.
