Oatmeal Apple and Carrots

A nutritious breakfast featuring rolled oats, grated apples, and carrots, packed with fiber, vitamins, and natural sweetness.

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 apple (grated or finely chopped)
  • 1 carrot (grated)
  • 2 cups milk or plant-based alternative
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the milk to a gentle simmer.
  2. Stir in the oats, grated apple, grated carrot, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Stir in maple syrup or honey if desired.
  5. Garnish with nuts, seeds, or additional apple slices for added crunch.

Notes

For a chewier texture, use steel-cut oats. Add a splash of vanilla extract or a spoonful of yogurt or nut butter for extra creaminess.
