A simple yet flavorful appetizer featuring a rich olive oil dip paired with warm, crusty bread, ideal for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 baguette or artisan bread loaf
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter (for brushing)
  • A sprinkle of sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, rosemary, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and sea salt. Stir well to blend the flavors.
  2. Add balsamic vinegar and Parmesan cheese (if using), and mix thoroughly. Let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette or artisan loaf into thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush them with olive oil or melted butter. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is warm and slightly crispy on the edges.
  5. Pour the prepared olive oil dip into a shallow dish and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with warm bread slices for dipping.
