Delightfully soft and buttery shell-shaped cookies enhanced with cream for a richer flavor and texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Melted chocolate for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients using a spatula. Pour in the melted butter and cream, gently folding until combined.
  4. Cover the batter and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease the Madeleine molds and dust with flour.
  6. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of batter into each mold, filling them about ¾ full. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar or dip in melted chocolate before serving.

Notes

Chill the batter to achieve the classic Madeleine hump. Use quality ingredients for the best flavor.
