Preparation
- Peel and shred the potatoes using a coarse grater.
- Wrap the shredded potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and wring out excess moisture until dry.
Cooking
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the shredded potatoes in a bowl and add salt, pepper, onion powder, and other seasonings as desired.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- If using cheese, add it in the last minute of cooking.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Adjust seasoning as preferred. Leftover hash browns can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the air fryer.
