Ingredients
  

Vegetables
  • 1 head green cabbage Shredded for the perfect texture.
  • 1 medium carrot Grated for sweetness and color.
Dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Can be substituted with Greek yogurt or sour cream.
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar For tanginess.
  • 1 tbsp honey Use for a balanced sweetness.
  • 1/4 tsp salt To taste, helps to draw out moisture.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper For seasoning.
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 medium apple Sliced, for a fruity twist.
  • 1/2 cup toasted almonds For added crunch.
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill Chopped, to enhance flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Shred the cabbage and grate the carrot, then place them into a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot, tossing to coat evenly.
  4. If using optional add-ins, incorporate them now.
  5. Let the coleslaw rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Serving
  1. Stir the coleslaw again just before serving, and enjoy as a side dish!

Notes

For best results, serve chilled and allow the slaw to sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving to enhance the flavor.
