Ingredients
  

Crust and Topping
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour For the crust and crumble topping.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Cold for the crust.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
Cherry Filling
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen cherries Pitted.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar For sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch To thicken the filling.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To brighten the flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and cold butter until crumbly for the crust.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into a baking dish as the crust.
Filling
  1. In another bowl, combine pitted cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  2. Pour the cherry mixture over the crust evenly.
Topping and Baking
  1. Make the crumble topping by mixing remaining flour, sugar, and butter until crumbly.
  2. Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the cherry layer.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Allow to cool before slicing into bars.
  2. Serve warm or chilled, with optional whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. Refrigerate for longer storage, or freeze for up to a month.
