Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 1 cup Graham cracker crumbs Or substitute with crushed shortbread cookies or chocolate cookies.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar For sweetness in the crust.
  • 1/2 cup Butter, melted To bind the crust.
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened Ensure it's at room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar For sweetness and smooth texture.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 cup Whipped topping Alternatively, use homemade whipped cream for richness.
Cherry Topping
  • 1 can Cherry pie filling Can be homemade for best flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix well.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie pan to form the crust.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese and mix until light and fluffy.
  5. Fold in the whipped topping gently until well combined.
  6. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the prepared crust.
  7. Top the cream cheese layer with cherry pie filling, spreading it evenly.
Chilling
  1. Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, preferably overnight, to allow it to set.

Notes

For an extra touch, consider adding almond extract to the cherry layer or garnishing with fresh mint. Ensure to chill the dessert thoroughly for a perfect slice.
