Preparation
- If using a store-bought crust, thaw it according to package directions. Place it in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and fully combined.
- Stir in the pecan halves until they are well coated with the filling mixture.
Baking
- Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust. Spread the pecans evenly.
- Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 45–50 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let the pie cool completely at room temperature before slicing. It will set more as it cools.
Serving
- Serve as-is, or with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh pecans. Chill before slicing for cleaner cuts.
