- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the orzo pasta to the pan and toast for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cover, simmering for 10-12 minutes or until orzo is tender.
Finishing
- Remove the pan from heat, stir in the grated parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Add any optional proteins or vegetables at this stage, along with lemon juice for added flavor.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra parmesan if desired.
Notes
For leftovers, add a splash of broth or water while reheating to maintain creaminess. This dish can also be served cold as a salad base.
