Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a big mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter cubes and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in the dried cherries and almonds.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream, egg, and almond extract. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix gently.
- Dump the mixture onto a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch-thick circle, and cut into 8 wedges.
Baking
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with cream, sprinkle with sugar, and bake for 14-17 minutes until golden.
Notes
