Ingredients
  

For the Cake Base
  • 1 box yellow cake mix or your favorite homemade yellow cake batter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted equivalent to 1 stick
  • 2 large eggs
For the Gooey Topping
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract and melted butter. Slowly add the powdered sugar and beat until creamy.
Assembly & Baking
  1. Pour the gooey topping over the cake base and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for about 40–45 minutes, until the center is slightly jiggly.
  3. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
