  • 12 pieces Hawaiian slider rolls Sweet rolls are ideal for balancing the savory filling.
  • 12 slices thinly sliced deli ham You can also use leftover holiday ham.
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese Provolone, cheddar, or Monterey Jack can also be used.
Buttery Glaze
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted The base for the glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Adds a tangy flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Enhances the savory profile.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Brings flavor depth.
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds Optional, for texture and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and lay the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  3. Layer the sliced ham and cheese on the bottom halves of the rolls.
Making the Glaze
  1. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and poppy seeds.
  2. Brush the glaze generously over the top of the rolls.
Baking
  1. Cover the baking dish loosely with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes until the tops are golden brown and cheese is melted.
  2. Remove the foil for the last 5 minutes of baking for extra crispness.

Notes

Feel free to add fig jam or apple butter for a sweet twist. For a spicier version, consider jalapeños or hot sauce in your glaze.
