  • 2 slices whole-grain or sourdough bread
  • 1 small ripe avocado, mashed
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices fresh tomato
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter or olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Additions for Extra Flavor
  • Red pepper flakes for a little spice
  • A drizzle of balsamic glaze for tanginess
  • Fresh basil or spinach for a refreshing twist

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the avocado and tomato. Mash the avocado with a pinch of salt and pepper if you prefer a smooth texture.
  2. Spread the mashed avocado evenly on one slice of bread.
  3. Add a layer of sliced tomato on top of the avocado.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously on top of the tomato.
  5. Place the second slice of bread on top to create a sandwich.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add butter or olive oil.
  2. Place the sandwich on the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing down gently with a spatula.
  3. Cook until the bread turns golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
Serving
  1. Slice the sandwich in half and serve warm.

Notes

Use ripe avocados for better texture. You can add a fried egg for extra protein.
