Ingredients
  

For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup raw honey Choose raw, unfiltered honey to maximize health benefits.
  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple juice Fresh juice provides a brighter taste.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon Wild-caught is preferable for higher nutrient levels.
  • Pineapple chunks for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Remove the salmon from the marinade and reserve the marinade for basting.
  2. Cook the salmon skin-side down for about 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the reserved marinade.
  3. For an optional pineapple salsa, mix diced pineapple, mango, red onion, and cilantro in a separate bowl.
  4. Serve the salmon garnished with fresh pineapple chunks and cilantro.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinade. Keep an eye on the salmon to avoid overcooking.
