Preparation
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and reserve the marinade for basting.
- Cook the salmon skin-side down for about 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the reserved marinade.
- For an optional pineapple salsa, mix diced pineapple, mango, red onion, and cilantro in a separate bowl.
- Serve the salmon garnished with fresh pineapple chunks and cilantro.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinade. Keep an eye on the salmon to avoid overcooking.
