Cheese Ball Base
  • 2 blocks full-fat cream cheese, softened Non-negotiable for smooth texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Or a cheese blend like Monterey Jack.
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits Adds a savory flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons diced jalapenos Use fresh or pickled; adjust for spice level.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Toppings and Decoration
  • 1 strip red bell pepper For making laces.
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream May also be used for laces.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, diced jalapenos, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Mix thoroughly using a hand mixer until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into a rough ball, cover it, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Shaping
  1. Once chilled, transfer the mixture to a clean surface and mold it into an oval or football shape.
Decorating
  1. Use strips of red bell pepper or piped sour cream to create laces on the cheeseball.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time and stored tightly wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Allow to soften slightly before serving.
