Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 lbs skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced Slice to about a quarter inch thick.
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce Adjust to taste.
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Optional, for extra flavor.
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger Optional, adds a nice kick.
  • to taste chili flakes Optional, to adjust spiciness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Thinly slice the chicken breast to about a quarter inch.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hot sauce, crushed garlic, brown sugar, and any additional spices you desire.
  3. Marinate the chicken slices for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight for best results.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°F (82°C).
  2. Place the marinated chicken slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Cook for 2 to 3 hours, checking halfway to ensure even cooking.
  4. When done, the jerky should bend slightly without breaking.
  5. Allow to cool before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

For variations, try adding smoked chipotle, teriyaki sauce, or sweet chili for different flavor profiles. Ensure that chicken slices are cut against the grain for better chewiness.
