Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together high-fat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and mix until a dough forms.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
Shaping Cookies
  1. Roll the chilled dough into uniform spheres.
  2. Roll each ball in colored sugar or pastel sprinkles.
  3. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, until edges are set but not browned.
  2. Remove from oven, and let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  3. Top each cookie with a Hershey's Kiss or a dollop of fruit preserve while they are still warm.

Notes

Ensure not to overbake the cookies; they should remain soft and chewy. Store in an airtight container with a slice of bread to maintain moisture.
