Ingredients
Method
Prepare the Coffee Dip
- Brew strong espresso or coffee and allow it to cool.
- Mix in liqueur if desired.
Make the Mascarpone Cream
- Separate egg yolks and beat them with sugar until pale and thick.
- Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Carefully fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.
Assemble the Tiramisu
- Quickly dip ladyfingers into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are moist but not soggy.
- Layer dipped ladyfingers in a rectangular or square dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.
- Smooth the top layer with a spatula and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, preferably overnight.
Garnish and Serve
- Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.
- Optionally, add chocolate shavings or coffee beans for decoration.
Notes
Allowing the Tiramisu to chill overnight enhances the flavors and texture. Avoid over-soaking the ladyfingers to prevent sogginess.
